Woc on the Web

Mon Jul 13, 2009, 5:53 PM
Here's an entry for the list of things I should have done months and months ago: Provide links to some of my other websites!

My Livejournal - Not a whole lot there, but perhaps a few interesting tidbits on my comics or whatnot.

My Youtube - I've got a few sped-up-recordings of my comics as they were being drawn, which I think are pretty keen, and potentially informative too. Perhaps you will as well!

I love your comic and your art very much.

I find myself intrigued by your storylines and your character development... I don't know if this is something you spent years working on, but it has the overall impression of being so. You have combined two things I love: good comics and sex :D

But I definitely want to do some fan art at some point... I'll let you know when I do it. The only problem I think I'll have is drawing Summer and Hatsuki's body types... I tend to draw my women curvy ;p

Keep up the awesome work!

Just finished reading "Moon Over June" up to just past the deliveries of Moon and June.

May I say something?

Wow!

I did not, at first, like Hatz/"Brittnie", and I didn't like, when I got to know her leanings, Summer/transfinite/Aleph(null). But that's my problem.

What isn't my problem is this story. Your fiction is so grounded that it appears to be captivating autobiography, or, your autobiography is so compelling that it appears to be captivating fiction.

I may not have liked (past-tense) Summer nor Hatz, but I love Summer _and_ Hatz, and the relationship that they work so hard (casually) to deny that they have.

Your work is a refreshing breath of clean (dirty, naughty, cheeky, sweet) air from the icky angst of the work I write. It's so delightful to emerge from the heaviness of my angst to read and enjoy and laugh out loud, helplessly, at the groundedness of your Moon and June mommies.

I thank you for giving Summer and Hatz a real background that includes real jobs (arguing the merits of tristing over a sonogram, no less) and real freckles and real (dumbass) brothers. They aren't (always) wrapped up in themselves or each other, they are out there in the world, or at home, dealing with each other, dates, babies, and the rest of the intimacies and intrusions of life.

Your artistry is lovingly crafted and so are your characters and story. Thank you for sharing the love.

Thanks! I strive to keep things grounded in reality, so it's very nice to see that someone besides me appreciates that kind of thing. But no, it's not at all autobiographical...except for a couple things here and there...but those are mostly just homages to specific silly events that I thought would make good jokes. Can't pass up a good joke...even if it's way too embarrassing to admit to in real life!
:icondauclair:
And what a reality you represent ... "represent" as in "capture." Summer and Hatz may not be "real" as in "physically manifested," but to me (and perhaps to some others, perhaps to you, even) they are as real as ... I don't know: my little girls playing "Mommy and baby" with their dolls. To them, they are the mommies and their dolls are their babies.

The whole phenomena vs. noumena thing. Summer and Hatz are immanent in their transcendent reality.

Um, dauclair/geophf, going off the deep end, comme toujours.

But I'm glad my "so real it seems autobiographical" comment was nice for you. It seems to me their whole story, not just some bits here and there, appear slice-of-life-y, and I hope you take it as a compliment that it appears to me that this is a page lifted right from your (or from somebody's) book of life experience.

Just as I find it entertaining when people reading my writing find it impossible to believe that I'm a d00d, because of how I pay attention to, *ahem*, certain feminine issues. Well, last I checked I was a guy, but better check again.

me: "Children, is Papa a guy?"
kids: "No! Papa's silly!"
me: "Um, okay ..."

Better check with my cara spoza.

me: "Dear, I'm a manly man, right? «Je suis fier de moimême!» and all that?"
cara: "Um, do I know you? And get away from me, you French-speaking weirdo; I have mace, and I will use it!"

*sigh* Hanywey. I'm glad you're glad.

I found your comic through slipshine, nice work! I like the premise, and it's refreshingly funny for a porn comic. XD
